Coffee in Asa Sul

The Asa Sul, the south wing, has fewer specialty cafés than the north, spread along its commercial strips and the W3. Muy is on 307, Café Angelita on 409 and Mercado do Café on the W3 at 509. The original Ernesto on 115 and Dylan on 315 are a short ride apart, and Studio Grão has a small café at 716, near the end of the wing.

    Studio Grão Coffee Roasters

    Sudoeste+2 locationsMust-try

Studio Grão is a roastery first: it supplies cafés around Brazil and, from this shop on 301 Sudoeste, runs a coffee school whose modules go from the basics to extraction methods, water and sensory analysis. The coffees come from different regions, varieties and post-harvest processes, and the shelf names its lots, a Geisha and a Catucaí among them. Ask the bar to brew two lots side by side to compare them, and take a bag of the one you prefer.

    Muy Café Brasília

    Asa SulMust-try

Muy is a specialty roaster from Goiânia, and its Brasília shop on CLS 307 Sul is a place to taste before you buy rather than a classic café. Walk in and the team will brew the coffees you are curious about at the counter and talk you through origin, process and tasting notes. The coffees come from several Brazilian regions and the shop also runs a subscription club. Come here to choose your beans, and leave with a bag.

    Brasilia Coffee's Market

    Asa SulGood

Mercado do Café, on the W3 Sul at CRS 509, is a café, a coffee shop and a training room in one place. Founder Tete Moulaz, whose family grows coffee, opened it in 2018 and still works the bar. The menu runs from espresso to filter, French press and AeroPress, and the house coffee, Moulaz, is chocolatey and full-bodied. The space runs courses on brewing and roasting, and in 2024 it was the venue for a stage of the Brazilian Latte Art Championship. Buy a bag or join the coffee club before you leave.

    Ernesto Specialty Coffees

    Asa Sul+1 locationGood

Ernesto opened on 115 Sul in 2011 and is one of the cafés that started Brasília's specialty scene. Since 2021 it has roasted its own coffee, with master roaster Marcelo Ribeiro checking the beans, the storage and the roast, and in 2024 its coffee was used in the Brazilian Latte Art Championship stage held in the city. Filter comes by V60 or French press, with origins that change with the harvest. The bread comes from its own bakery, and the house is big and busy from early morning to late evening.

    Dylan Cafe & Bakery

    Asa SulGood

Dylan is a café and sourdough bakery on SCLS 315 Sul, run by Fabrício Campos. The breads rise slowly with natural leaven, including a 100% wholegrain loaf made with stone-ground flour, and the pastrami sandwich on the house baguette has been on the menu since the first day. The coffee side is small: espresso drinks that the shop calls specialty coffee, including a cappuccino with oat milk and pure cocoa. On weekdays it opens in the afternoon, there is brunch on weekend mornings, and on pizza nights you can bring your own wine with no corkage fee.

    Café Angelita

    Asa SulGood

Café Angelita on CLS 409 Sul is a café and bistro with European décor and four rooms to choose from. The ground floor feels like a French café, the mezzanine is quieter, the side veranda suits a slow dinner, and the courtyard has a long family table, a fountain and a playground. Filter coffee comes as a coado or brewed in a V60 or a French press, with three coffees to choose from, next to espresso and cappuccinos. It serves from breakfast to dinner, and the breakfast sets come with sourdough bread baked in house.
