Why it's a must-try

The Shelter roasts its own coffee at its Uriburu Street café and lists each bean with its origin, variety and process: a natural Bourbon Amarillo from Minas Gerais, a washed coffee from Huila, a Nicaraguan Dipilto. Filters are brewed to order in V60, Chemex, AeroPress or French press.

This Balvanera branch is the roastery, the one Sprudge picked out, and you can buy 250 g or 1 kg bags of the same coffees to take home. In summer there are iced drinks and an orange cold brew. It works on a weekday schedule, so plan a morning visit. Time Out calls the Belgrano café, on Virrey Loreto, the crown jewel of the group.
