    The Shelter Coffee

    Balvanera+3 locationsGood

The Shelter roasts its own coffee at its Uriburu Street café and lists each bean with its origin, variety and process: a natural Bourbon Amarillo from Minas Gerais, a washed coffee from Huila, a Nicaraguan Dipilto. Filters are brewed to order in V60, Chemex, AeroPress or French press. This Balvanera branch is the roastery, the one Sprudge picked out, and you can buy 250 g or 1 kg bags of the same coffees to take home. In summer there are iced drinks and an orange cold brew. It works on a weekday schedule, so plan a morning visit. Time Out calls the Belgrano café, on Virrey Loreto, the crown jewel of the group.

    Recoleta+3 locationsGood

flat&white was founded in 2016 by Martina Vigo and Gabriel Gazdik, and it roasts its coffee on its own Diedrich, with Vigo at the roaster. The range leans light and lists single origins from Colombia, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Panama and Peru, some with the producer named. This café is on Cerrito, in Recoleta. The group also runs a coffee school with barista courses and tastings, and a bakery that supplies its cafés. It placed 20th in The Best Coffee Shops Argentina 2026. Have an espresso or a flat white, then take a bag of the current single origin home.

    MANIFIESTO (Nuñez)

    Núñez+2 locationsMust-try

Manifiesto sums itself up as "we roast, we serve and we bring coffee to your home". It roasts its own beans, sold by lot: Chambaku from Colombia, Sertao from Brazil, Rivasplata and Caracolillo from Peru, plus coffees from Honduras and Rwanda, and it supplies more than a hundred cafés and businesses. This café is on Arribeños, in Núñez, and stays open into the evening from Wednesday to Sunday. Its academy runs espresso and filter workshops for beginners and a full barista course. It placed 39th in The Best Coffee Shops Argentina 2026. Ask which lot is on the grinder.

    Cora Cafe

    RetiroGood

Cora is on the ground floor of the Kavanagh, the art deco tower facing Plaza San Martín that iProfesional's Silvina Reusmann called the most beautiful building in the city. The café takes its name from Corina Kavanagh, the woman behind the building, and its room follows the building's art deco style, which Reusmann described as a trip back in time. She also wrote that the place alone is worth the visit. The Best Coffee Shops Argentina 2026 placed Cora 29th in the country. Pair a coffee here with a walk around the plaza.

    Rondó Cafe

    RetiroGood

Rondó is a coffee bar on Uruguay street, on the edge of Recoleta, that builds its menu around beans selected from Guatemala. The drink it is known for is the flat white, made with two ristretto shots and textured milk, and the house latte, the Latte Rondó, puts two espresso shots into a 250 ml cup. It opens on weekdays and on Saturdays, which makes it an easy stop for a short, careful milk coffee while you walk the city centre.
