Coffee and brunch in Buenos Aires

These specialty cafés also serve a full brunch or lunch menu, with the coffee bar still at the centre: filter on V60 or Chemex next to toasts, eggs and bowls. Good when the group wants to eat as well as drink coffee.

    La Ventana x Anafe

    Palermo HollywoodGood

La Ventana is the coffee bar of the team behind the restaurant Anafe, chef Mica Najmanovich and Nico Arcucci. The coffee comes from Fuego Tostadores, a Buenos Aires roaster, and Sprudge picked out the seasonal Brazilian blend, with notes of almond and chocolate, as a match for the medialunas. The bar makes espresso drinks, cold brew and a refillable batch filter, and sells quarter-kilo bags of its Fuego coffee. Food leads the menu, with breakfast all day, lunch plates and cakes, in a cozy room with mismatched chairs.

    Cobre Café

    Villa Crespo+1 locationGood

Cobre is a specialty café in Villa Crespo whose website says its baristas hold SCA certification. Filter coffee has its own section on the menu, brewed by V60, Chemex or AeroPress, and the site's "now brewing" board names the coffees in rotation, such as a Bourbon Rosado from Colombia, a Wush Wush from Ethiopia and a Geisha from Peru. The kitchen does viennoiserie, chipa sandwiches and a brunch menu, so it works for a slow breakfast as well as a quick flat white. Bags of specialty coffee are sold at the counter.

    Clorindo Café/Brunch

    RecoletaGood

Clorindo fills the inner patio of the Ricardo Güiraldes public library, a Tudor-style building from 1921, and its design is a tribute to the architect Clorindo Testa: concrete, wood and iron, curved furniture, blue, cream and orange tones, and tiered seats at the back. Time Out Buenos Aires names the coffee as the highlight, with espresso drinks and filter coffee on the menu. The other half of the menu is brunch, and the counter has raspberry pepas and a carrot cake cookie. It is a quiet place to sit, with outlets on the patio wall if you need to work.

    Kajue Café

    Palermo SohoGood

Kajue opened in Palermo Soho in 2019, started by Nathaly and Eduardo, who met at a café in Caracas. It is a coffee house and bistro: the long menu runs from brunch and Venezuelan breakfasts to cakes, but the coffee list is real. Single origins from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras and Colombia go into espresso or a special lot brewed by hand in V60, Chemex, AeroPress or French press. South America's 100 Best Coffee Shops listed it in 2026. From Wednesday to Saturday it stays open until 21.

    Café Razo

    Núñez+1 locationGood

Café Razo calls itself a bakery, deli and coffee bar, and the coffee holds its own. In 2026 Time Out put this Besares shop on its list of new specialty cafés, noting that the cups are consistent whether you order a filter or an espresso drink. The menu offers V60 and AeroPress filters, a daily batch brew, flat whites and cold brew, and bags of Puerto Blest coffee are for sale. Ask for the pistachio cookie Time Out singled out. The breads are slow-fermented sourdough, and there is a second Razo on Quesada.

    DOC Café

    Villa CrespoGood

DOC is a neighbourhood specialty café on Aráoz in Villa Crespo that set out to be a meeting point built around good coffee. The current menu lists filtered coffee for one person by Origami, V60 or AeroPress, and for two by Chemex or V60, next to the usual espresso drinks, served at 65 °C unless you ask for it hotter. Its website explains how it picks coffees for their origin and process. The kitchen runs brunch, lunches and pastries, and beans and brewing gear are sold through its online shop.

    Jaramillo Cafe

    Núñez+1 locationGood

Jaramillo is a sunny corner café on 11 de Septiembre in Núñez, and Time Out picked it for doing the classics well: espresso, iced latte and iced americano, plus an espresso with hibiscus in summer. Its own menu also offers V60 filter, which its posts suggest as the first coffee of the day. The kitchen is busy too, with bagels, granola bowls, cinnamon rolls and lunch, so it suits a long morning. There is a second Jaramillo in Belgrano, on Manuel Ugarte.
