    NEGRO Cueva de café

    San Nicolás+4 locationsMust-try

Negro opened on Suipacha Street in 2015 as one of the first specialty coffee bars in the city centre, and this small room is still the flagship. Its coffee comes from its own roastery, Fuego Tostadores, which buys fresh-crop lots after visiting farms in Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia and Peru. The menu has a filter section: ask the barista which coffees and methods are on today. The team also runs Negro Escuela, a barista school founded in 2016. It opens on weekdays only, from 8 to 16. Negro Hollywood, opened in 2026, adds shelves of books and records for sale and a hand-brew menu for one or two.

    Hobby

    Palermo Soho+1 locationGood

Hobby serves beans from Puerto Blest, one of Argentina's leading roasters, on a bar split into an espresso station and a manual brew station, with a Modbar system and Mahlkönig grinders. This branch sits on the ground floor of a boutique hotel on Malabia Street, with good light and an inner patio; a second Hobby is in Chacarita. Time Out recommends it for any time of day, from a chat to an hour of work. Order a pour-over, or a flat white.

    CAFECITO

    Palermo Hollywood+1 locationMust-try

Cafecito began in 2019 as a conversation between friends and now selects and roasts its own beans, sold with the farm, producer and process on each bag. At this corner of Palermo, a block from Pacífico, the bar pulls espresso and brews V60, Origami and Moccamaster with rotating lots. Among its current coffees is La Celeste, a honey-processed Castillo from Finca Más in Quindío, Colombia. The room has eight tables, a communal table for six, a small patio and two sidewalk tables, with wifi and plugs. Music is part of the place, so it can get loud. Breakfast, brunch and lunch plates sit next to the coffee.

    Raíz

    Villa CrespoGood

Raíz is a neighbourhood specialty café on Aguirre Street in Villa Crespo, and its filter coffee is the reason to go: Time Out called its filters exceptional, made with care. Upstairs there is a quieter floor that Time Out recommends for studying or working without hurry. In 2026 it ranked tenth in The Best Coffee Shops Argentina, the national list judged by a jury and a public vote. Order a filter and ask the barista what is brewing that day.

    Clorindo Café/Brunch

    RecoletaGood

Clorindo fills the inner patio of the Ricardo Güiraldes public library, a Tudor-style building from 1921, and its design is a tribute to the architect Clorindo Testa: concrete, wood and iron, curved furniture, blue, cream and orange tones, and tiered seats at the back. Time Out Buenos Aires names the coffee as the highlight, with espresso drinks and filter coffee on the menu. The other half of the menu is brunch, and the counter has raspberry pepas and a carrot cake cookie. It is a quiet place to sit, with outlets on the patio wall if you need to work.

    Van Atleet Club

    NúñezGood

Van Atleet is a coffee house and clothing brand for people who love sport, opened in 2026 on Arribeños in Núñez. It serves its own coffee, roasted in La Cumbre, and sells the same single origin, Café Amelia, in 250 g bags to take home. The club house has a European-inspired design, with space to meet friends, work or stay all day, and the shelves carry the club's own T-shirts and hoodies. The team calls it a club, and its newsletter announces events.

    Vedra Cafe C

    Belgrano+1 locationGood

Vedra calls itself a pastry and specialty coffee café, and Time Out's Sol Mohadeb picked this Belgrano shop as a place to work or study. The room recalls a school but with a modern, pleasant design, with a shared table and a bar with power outlets for laptops. The drinks go beyond the basics: an apple pie latte made with an apple reduction and sweet spices, and a cold brew with grapefruit syrup and merkén. The Best Coffee Shops Argentina 2026 placed Vedra 27th in the country.

    Siba Café Especial

    NúñezGood

Siba is a small café on Montañeses in Núñez, with a bar, a few tables with outlets, and a white, bright, minimal room that Time Out Buenos Aires describes as good for focus. The same 2024 Time Out list of specialty cafés for studying and remote work calls its coffee exceptional. For something sweet, look for the red velvet cookie or the gluten-free, vegan banana and peanut cookie; for something savoury, the croissant with halloumi.
